The phrase “vintage mauve” has become a bit of an inside joke between my husband and I. It all started when I decided that it was time to repaint our office. I had an idea of the color, but it was a matter of finding the perfect shade. When I stumbled upon it rummaging though paint samples at Home Depot, I knew “vintage mauve” was the winner. As soon as we started rolling the walls, I fell in love. Now, any time we see a color similar, it’s automatically vintage mauve. To my husband, it doesn’t matter whether it’s pink or brown, it’s all vintage mauve to him. For that reason, I decided to name this blog after said paint color due to the fact that it’s a little bit of everything.
Andrew and I were married January 9th, 2009, and bought our first home December 22nd, 2009. We fell in love with a charming cottage in downtown, that was built in 1945. It’s had a lot of upgrades and renovations in its time, and we don’t plan on stopping progress. We both work full-time and attend college at our local community college. Basically, we always have too much on our plate. But that doesn’t stop us from home projects! Our house was our biggest and best investment, why not put a little love in it?
The goal of Vintage Mauve is to share the things that inspire us, motivate us, stop us dead in our tracks, or give us the extra push we might need in our endeavors. Oh, and also to show off pictures of our cats, Columbia and Nokomis.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
Andrew and Jessica
