Life via Instagram

The one thing I love about Instagram is how easy it is to capture something. Without my cell phone, I would probably miss a lot of moments that I’d like to save forever.  As much as I love my Canon Rebel, it’s impossible to lug that around all of the time – but with my iPhone and Instagram, I’ve got it covered.  So what’s been going on with us lately? Well, let’s have some Instagram photos break it down for ya!

Picture #1:  For whatever the reason, I feel like Andrew goes though pants like no other.  So every couple of months, with coupon in hand, we head over to JCPenney’s and stock up for the upcoming season.  Last weeks shopping adventure was dedicated towards shorts (it is getting hot already!) and new work pants. He was giving a little fashion show in the fitting room, and I captured this gem of a photo.  He’s so handsome, sometimes. Haha!

Picture #2: For Valentine’s Day, Andrew bought me the most perfect ring from Cat Bird.  However, because of the weather they had in February, it was delivered late. And then on top of that, it was the wrong size.  I only just got it last week!  It is the most precious thing in the world, and I absolutely love it.

Picture #3: We go from Cat Bird rings to real deal kitties.  That would be Nokomis, not leaving me alone even when I’m in the restroom. Don’t get me wrong, she is adorable and I want her around all the time.  But give me a few moments to myself, please?

Picture #4:  My new babies! I’m obsessed with Rebecca Minkoff, so when Gilt Groupe had a RM sale and these beauties were marked down to $100, I couldn’t say no.  Who could I? I’ll tell you what, they are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I own and since they are both brown and black, I can wear them with anything.  LOVE!

Picture #5:  The doozie.  I did it.  I submitted my application for Doctor of Chiropractic at NUHS.  My transcripts have been requested and are being sent over.  My letters of recommendations are in the work.  In about a month,  I’ll know what the future will hold. To say that I’m nervous would be an understatement.  Just have to put positive thoughts out there, and hope the outcome is what I want.  Eeek!

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you are missing out on awesome photos of our cats, and usually of my face.  :-)

A Month In Photo: May

Boy, oh boy. What a month May has been!  It was all fun and games until I decided to take two summer classes. Somehow, every semester, I seem to forget just how much of a work load I’ll have. Total case of biting off more than I can chew.  Balancing work, school and the website is no easy project.  One, I most certainly cannot DIY. Maybe I should try to convince Andrew to contribute to the blog, aye? Wouldn’t that the entertaining!

Now with my obsession with Instagram, I like to post a little collage with photos from the month.  It’s so nice to keep track of where you have been, and what you’ve seen!

  1. A few weeks ago, I was surprised when Andrew brought me flowers for no reason at all.   It came at the perfect time though, after having a very cruddy day. Oddly enough, he didn’t even know the day was cruddy when he brought them home.  It was just on a whim.  A perfect vintage mauve rose whim.  :-)
  2. Over Memorial Day weekend, we were lucky enough to have four days off.   We went to the beach, saw a movie, did some shopping and relaxed.  On Sunday, we made our way over to Hyde Park Village which is a quaint shop and restaurant area in Tampa.  We decided to have lunch at a Irish Pub, who oddly enough, had the most amazing onion rings.   Thanks to a mess up in the kitchen, we got two batches of onion rings for the price of one.   As you can see by Andrew’s face, he’s definitely got that look of food contentment/coma going on.
  3. I may be the worst when it comes to pulling out of my driveway.  Maybe it’s the fact that I still haven’t gotten all to used to the car, or maybe I can just blame it on the fact that the curb is a little high by the sidewalk when pulling out.  Or I may just suck at driving.  Whatever the case may be, I did manage to hit our white picket fence.  Check out how the fence even says Michelin on it!  Thank god this makes for a really funny story, or I would be mad about it.  The dent I left in my car got “fixed” for what it’s worth.  Barbra Streisand (Yeah, that’s what I named my car) may be a little battered and bruised, but it’s on the passenger side.  If I don’t see it, it never happened.
  4. We finally got started on phase one of our office! A few hours at Ikea, and even more hours assembling the furniture, I’ve got myself a nice  craft and sewing station.  Note to self:  When classes are over, learn how to sew!

What are you guys posting on Instagram these days?

Summer School

Can someone please explain to me why I’m so hellbent on getting my Bachelor’s degree?  Because now with taking summer classes, it’s definitely cut my blogging time into just about none!  Downgrade.  The first week of classes is hard to get used to, that’s for sure.  Especially since I had taken the Spring semester off.   But, once I get into a rhythm and get a better feel for the teachers, it should even out some.  Or at least I hope so.

So, here is a brief little update on what’s going on in the Evans’ household.

  1. We’re going to Ikea tomorrow! We’re going to Ikea tomorrow!  I’m praying to god that I’ll have some time this evening to re-measure the office so we can start buying items for my dream desk.  I certainly need it now since I’m back to the homework grind.  Not working on a folding table would be ideal.
  2. Last weekend we had our fence repaired, our deck reinforced, and wax ring in the toilet replaced.  All for the low low price of nothing.  And we didn’t have to move a finger.  A post is soon to come about all of that goodness, and what we’ve dreamed up for our backyard.
  3. I successfully made my first batch of scrambled eggs last weekend.  Yes, you read that right.  I’m sure I’ve mentioned before I’m the last person you want in a kitchen.
  4. Who else cried like a baby during this week’s Glee episode?  Fangirlin’ over Finchele like it’s my job, okay?
  5. Andrew surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses, for no reason what so ever.  They were gorgeous! But my favorite? The single vintage mauve rose.  How perfect!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far.  And if you’re not?  Don’t fret because the weekend is coming! :-)

Love always,

J and A
