Skip A Beat Tuesday: Fourth Edition

Welcome to another Skip A Beat Tuesday! I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite features, just because it makes me feel less guilty for spending hours online checking out whats for sale. I keep telling Andrew its research. I’m beginning to think he’s starting to know better.   But, I shall hope that he isn’t and I will continue on, and on, and on.  In my internet travels this week,  I fell in love with a bird, crater, wedge, and roll.   Sounds cryptic but it really does make sense when you check out the links below.

  1. Jonathan Adler Find’s Large Wood Bird
  2. House of Harlow Crater Necklace
  3. Ecote Malibu Peep-Toe Wedge
  4. Urban Outfitters Hanging Toilet Paper Holder

Okay, just how cool is the hanging toilet paper holder? For those of you who don’t want another something on the floor to stash away your stash, this is perfect!   Our toilet is positioned next to a wall, so you wouldn’t even see it through the door.   Must. Have. It. Now.

What are you lusting for this week?

Cheers,

J and A

Ooooh,  and don’t forget to link up to the link party!

Skip A Beat Tuesday: Third Edition

With the seasons changing (you know, from hot to hotter in Florida), it makes me want to refresh my wardrobe, spruce up my nails and add a little flair to my life. The internet is a bad, bad place for a girl who has a really bad habit of adding things to her cart.  Thankfully, I can keep myself from clicking the submit button solely on the fact that debt is bad, and having a savings account is good.   But, if there were a day that I didn’t have to worry about our savings account and could just spend willy-nilly, these would be the first things I bought.   (But not in any order though, because lets face it – I would buy the Rebecca Minkoff first.  Gosh, I love a good handbag.)

  1. C Wonder’s Portable Speaker, 24 dollars
  2. Rebecca Minkoff MAB Mini Handbag, 525 dollars
  3. Essie Nail Polish in No More Film, 8 dollars
  4. Makelike Succulent Poster, 65 dollars
  5. ModCloth’s Flame of Reference dress, 74.99 dollars
Anything special out there that is making your heart skip a beat?

Skip A Beat Tuesday: Second Edition

If I had all of the money in the world (and square footage to go along with it),  I’d jump at the chance to have a craft room.   I feel like every craft project I want to take on, I simply just don’t have the room to sprawl out and get it completed.   The most important thing in crafting is having a flat surface to lay everything out on.  Do I have that?  Hardly.   I’ve got a dining room table, in a teeny dining room.  By the time I get all of the necessary supplies, I’ve taken up half the  table space!  Can you sense my frustration just typing this?  I can’t help but just stare at pictures of Martha Stewart’s craft collection at Home Decorators and wish for the day where I can have this perfectly organized creative space.   But,  remember how I said I wished I had all of the money in the world?  That’s because that is what it would take to afford all of the Martha goodness!   It’s crazy expensive. I keep giving Andrew the tried and true “wink wink, nudge nudge” for him to start learning to build furniture. However, he has yet to take a bite at the bait just yet. Personally, I believe tackling the office would be the perfect first project. Mostly because I would benefit greatly from the transition. (Haha.  That’s good, right?) In order to make my heart skip a HUGE beat,  the second bedroom would have to be converted into the make-up application, homework, craft, sewing, bill paying and reading room.   Tall order, right?

I’m completely in love with the second option, because there is nothing I love more than the his and hers’ work space.  Andrew and I have that now with an L shaped desk in each corner.  But, realistically,  his desk has just become a grave for all of the projects that go to die.   The idea of husband and wife hanging out in the office together is nice in theory, but not happening in this household.  As I type up this entry,  Andrew is not hanging out in his office nook, but sitting outside on the couch watching hockey.    Case and point. When coming up with an alternative plan in our office, I would feel bad “bogarting” the work space, even if it doesn’t get used as office, I’d love for him to have the option.   But, I dare say… option 1 and 3 make my heart skip a beat too!  Which one strikes your fancy?

Love, J and A
