Do you Poshmark?

For all of you iPhone users out there, if you don’t Poshmark – then you are crazy. I discovered this app about a month ago, and absolutely fell in love with it! Personally, I can change-up a wardrobe pretty quickly and because of that I end up with a fair amount of hardly worn pieces that just sit in my closet and collect dust. I’ve brought them to places like Plato’s Closet or even tried eBay to sell – but with no luck. Either I get offered too little, or nothing at all.  Sites like eBay are just too big to have buyers come across your items. However, with using Poshmark, it is smaller and much more customization which maximizes who is seeing your closet. The best part? I don’t have to upload photos and re size them. Just take a few photos with my phone, add them to the app, put in a description, price the item and I am done!

Doesn’t that just look like so much fun?  A little store of my own, all on my iPhone.  Another nice feature of Poshmark is that they deal with the postage.  Shipping is charged at check-out, and they send you a prepaid label to put on the package.  Print it and pack it up at home, and then schedule a pick up over at USPS.com.  You can sell your closet without actually leaving your home.  Tell me that isn’t a total time saver.  For those of you have used eBay, you can know how time consuming taking photos and listing can be, but Poshmark makes things so much easier.   No PayPal fees to contend with, either!  Poshmark holds funds in your account until the buyer has accepted your item, and then you can transfer the money into your bank account or keep it on file to shop on Poshmark.

The app does take 20% of your sale price, but there is no charge for listing so you can keep sharing your item as much as you like.  You don’t pay a dime unless it sells.  20% may be a high amount, but you have to think how much you may make on eBay or at a garage sale.  I’m telling ya, you’re going to make a lot more on Poshmark despite the 20%.

Unfortunately,  the app is only for iPhone or iPad users, but I did just read on the website that they are working towards a shoppable website and creating an Android interface.  With that being said, iPhone users get it now because it’s about to get HUGE.

Dream Bathroom Via UKBathrooms.com

If you’re anything like me, when you’re in the middle of redesigning a space, your brain floats into fantasy land where you have all the money in the world and could do whatever you want. If you brain doesn’t do that, well…then you’re lucky because it’s heart breaking sometimes! But alas, it’s always fun to dream up the perfect space. If for nothing else, you can use elements of that design and try to find a more budget friendly way to accomplish that. When UKBathrooms.com approached me in regards to doing a write-up, I couldn’t say no simply because its way too much fun to go online, see the abundance of options, and play around with things. It was almost impossible to say no when I started browsing and found some AMAZING pieces.  The tubs alone are to die for, but that may be because the Sarah Richardson in me always loves a tub. Due to the fact they are a British company, you’ll find more ornate and sleek lines than you would often find here in the states. Personally, I find design found in other countries always to be fascinating  Which is ultimately why I had to cancel our cable subscription because I watched House Hunters International on HGTV way too much. Real life problems, I know. Can you blame me though? That show is addicting.  Sometimes you don’t always have the option to live in another country, so why not bring the flare into your own home?  Especially in a room where you spend more time in than you’d like to admit.

  1. B.C. Sanitan Greenwhich Slipper Bath

  2. Roper Rhodes Provence 700mm White Gloss Basin and Unit

  3. Imperial Drift Close Coupled Pan And Cistern

  4. Essential Curved Chrome Towel Warmer

  5. V & B Bianco Nero Decor Tile 1581 (30 x 60cm)

First things first, let’s talk about that slipper bath. Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous?  And the best part of it is that it comes in four different colors. Blue seems to be ideal though simply because it is just so calming, which is the whole point of a slipper bath like that. The basin unit is the perfect combination of traditional and modern, which is something that I find really difficult to blend.  Either it’s too much of one, and not enough of the other. Now, I can’t remember if I have previously raved about the fact that we have a really pretty toilet. May seem like an oxy-moron but pretty toilets do exist! Ours has a really elegant base and top, made by Kohler.  Even as much as I love our toilet, when I saw the version that UKBathrooms.com offered – I was a little jealous. I dare you to tell me that isn’t one sexy toilet, because it totally is!  When I think about truly being fancy, the only thing that comes to mind is having a towel heater in your bathroom. Is that not a symbol of arriving in the world? There is nothing more fancy than having a towel rack that keeps your towels warm. Last but not least, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the tile that they offer, especially the mixed herringbone design. Holy beautiful!  The different textures and sheens make it look so absolutely elegant, but not so graphic that it looks harsh in the bathroom. Elegant and understated. I would absolutely love to use that tile to replace what we currently have in our shower.

RetailResource.com: Retail Store Supplies

Growing up  I always saw myself as a purveyor of fine things, whether it be jewelry, clothing, or accessories.  As I get older,  I gravitate more and more towards home decor – thanks to Sarah Richardson, HGTV, and owning a home.  Because of those two yens’,  Andrew and I are really bouncing around the idea of pursing a retail shop of our own.   Much like half of the working folk out there, we’re both holding down jobs that we like, but not love and don’t have a passion for.   We both just really want the opportunity to be creative, which is why the idea keeps coming up in our day-to-day.  What kind of shop will we have?  Where will it be?  How does the upstart come from?  How do we write a business plan?  We’ve been trying to answer all of these questions for the past couple of weeks.  But even though we have nothing set in stone, it doesn’t stop me from searching the web in looking for items to fill the store front with.  Despite not having a clear vision,  retail store supplies are always necessary.   The first thing I thought of while Andrew was worrying about money was “What color gift bags will we have?”.   (But mind you, I’m the business major in the family.  Hilarious).  With this very serious question in mind,  I headed over to Retail Resource in hoping to find my answer.  I was ecstatic to find a great selection of gift bags, but also display cases.  Then a thought appeared in my ever churning brain…Retail store displays could be perfect in our home!

Wouldn’t this make the cutest teabag or K-Cup holder on the kitchen counter?  It even comes with a place to add an adorable label that matches your kitchen scheme. Sometimes the K-Cup brand holder isn’t always the most attractive of piece, but I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing this taking up counter space.

Can you envision how this would work perfectly in the cupboard to hold cans, or spices?  This would save up so much shelf space and make it so much more organized.

I thought this would be perfect in the living room to hold books, or magazines that you’d like nearby but don’t want to keep on the coffee table.   Everyone has a place, and everything in its place, right?

It’s safe to say that I am finding a lot of great items on this site for not just the future retail shop, but for our own home too!   The prices are affordable, and the site is really easy to navigate.  I’m loving it!

Love, J and A
