Growing up I always saw myself as a purveyor of fine things, whether it be jewelry, clothing, or accessories. As I get older, I gravitate more and more towards home decor – thanks to Sarah Richardson, HGTV, and owning a home. Because of those two yens’, Andrew and I are really bouncing around the idea of pursing a retail shop of our own. Much like half of the working folk out there, we’re both holding down jobs that we like, but not love and don’t have a passion for. We both just really want the opportunity to be creative, which is why the idea keeps coming up in our day-to-day. What kind of shop will we have? Where will it be? How does the upstart come from? How do we write a business plan? We’ve been trying to answer all of these questions for the past couple of weeks. But even though we have nothing set in stone, it doesn’t stop me from searching the web in looking for items to fill the store front with. Despite not having a clear vision, retail store supplies are always necessary. The first thing I thought of while Andrew was worrying about money was “What color gift bags will we have?”. (But mind you, I’m the business major in the family. Hilarious). With this very serious question in mind, I headed over to Retail Resource in hoping to find my answer. I was ecstatic to find a great selection of gift bags, but also display cases. Then a thought appeared in my ever churning brain…Retail store displays could be perfect in our home!
Wouldn’t this make the cutest teabag or K-Cup holder on the kitchen counter? It even comes with a place to add an adorable label that matches your kitchen scheme. Sometimes the K-Cup brand holder isn’t always the most attractive of piece, but I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing this taking up counter space.
Can you envision how this would work perfectly in the cupboard to hold cans, or spices? This would save up so much shelf space and make it so much more organized.
I thought this would be perfect in the living room to hold books, or magazines that you’d like nearby but don’t want to keep on the coffee table. Everyone has a place, and everything in its place, right?
It’s safe to say that I am finding a lot of great items on this site for not just the future retail shop, but for our own home too! The prices are affordable, and the site is really easy to navigate. I’m loving it!
Love, J and A
