Downtown

Andrew and I decided to take a walk downtown yesterday to enjoy some of the beautiful weather we’ve been having.  It’s not cold yet, but the wind has been keeping it brisk.  Don’t worry though,  I’m counting down til Florida’s winter season, whenever that will be.   I’m very much looking forward to wearing my green pea-coat and boots again.   It’s this time of year where I realize that I’m meant for a northern state, because I think I would much prefer snow over sand.  Sand just gets everywhere and feels so gritty.    Blah, Florida.   Anyway, back to the actual purpose of this post…

In our travels downtown,  we made a point to stop by Lafayette and Rushford, which is a beautiful interior design shop.  For the holidays,  the store was packed to the brim with Christmas decorations and themed trees.  The storefront was absolutely stunning.  I probably walked the store at least five times to take it all in.  During our time spent there,  I had a chance to chit chat with the owner, Linda. Who, of course, was dressed to the nines and looking completely fabulous and I was standing in her amazing shop after walking there and probably smelling earthy.  Isn’t that always the way it goes?    There was just so much inspiration for design in this shop, and you could tell Linda was the driving force behind it.  I’m hoping after the holidays, when the wallet bounces back, I’ll be able to go back and pick up a few things I made a mental list of.

Here are a few photos from their website, so you can see how gorgeous the products are.  Check out their website too, you will not be disappointed.

After we left L&F,  we made our way over to The Feathered Nest.  Much to my surprise,  it was a shop as well as design studio. Even more to my surprise,  my eyes did land upon the perfect fabric for the headboard when it comes time to re-do our bedroom.  (Andrew is currently rolling his eyes at the prospect of more work).  Please enjoy fab fabric below.

Love love love it.  Love it even more because it’ll match the Jonathan Adler accent pillows my mom bought us a while back.  Poor things have been hanging out in the closet waiting for their big reveal.  One of these days….

All in all, it was a great day filled with ideas I hope to use in the house.  Now, I just need to get through the next 5 work days so I can have my happy weekend face on again.  Same goes for Andrew too, who is currently sitting on the couch watching Walking Dead and “doing homework”.

P.S –  On our walk downtown, we stumbled across Benny loungin’ in the front yard of his actual home, only one street away. He ran over to us and rubbed up against our legs.  What a cutie!

Love, J and A.
