Mauvin’ Monday #7 Link Party

Greetings!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  Andrew and I kept a low profile over the weekend, since we still aren’t feeling 100% from our colds.  We definitely enjoyed our time relaxing, taking walks, drinking tea and we even managed to pull a few weeds from the front yard.  Not too shabby, all in all.

Let’s get rolling to the real reason why you are checking out this post today, and that’s for the link party!  Last week, there were 47 awesome projects posted.  Out of all of the projects,  I have to say that The Latest Find’s Spring Frame Decoration was my favorite!

Congrats on the feature!  Don’t forget to take your button! :-)

Mauvin’ Monday Link Party #5 + Award Bonus!

Happy Monday, gang!  I hope everyone had an awesome weekend, and didn’t get too crazy on St. Patrick’s Day.  Andrew and I successfully completed our first weekend without cable.  Yes, you read that right.  No more cable! Not even basic.  NOTHING.  And honestly, we don’t miss it at all.  I am amazed by how much we got accomplished this weekend.  You’ll see throughout the week a lot of the things that we worked on, and I’m so excited to share it!   Do yourself a favor, and get rid of your cable.  It’ll free up your mind and so much time.

Just as the weekend was beginning,  I got one of the best comments from Katie over at Adventures of a DIY Dork.  Katie is bestowing the honor of the Liebster Award to little ole’ me!  (Insert squeal here!)  I can’t thank Katie enough for the award. Plus, I have to say that being acknowledged by a fellow blogger that you are a fan of, makes it even more special. If you haven’t checked out her blog, do so!  Her projects are amazing.  (Especially this one!)

If you aren’t familiar with the Liebster award, I’ll fill you in.  It originated in Germany and is given to blogs who are up and coming with under 200 followers.  In German, Liebster means “dearest or beloved”.   I’ll take that definition, any day!  As an official receipt of the blog, I’ve got a few rules to follow.

  1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter
  2. Make sure to link back to the blogger who presented you with the award
  3. Copy and paste the blog award button on your blog
  4. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers of less and who you feel deserve to be noticed.
  5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.
To continue the tradition, it’s now time to announce who I’d like to share the Liebster Blog Award with!
  • Little House in the Big D –  When it comes to turning something from grubby to golden – Samm has the magic touch.  There isn’t a project that her and her husband can’t handle.
  • Decorating Insanity –  Monica and Elaine restore so many amazing pieces of furniture! I’m in awe of their skill, and the bold color choices they use for their pieces.
  • Ashley’s Dandelion Wishes –  There hasn’t been a craft project on her site that I have not loved!  Everything is just so dang cute!
  • Bringing Beauty –  I adore this blog!  It’s four sisters all writing about what they love. Whether its cooking, fashion, home decor or crafts, it all proves to be fantastic.
  • The…Late,Young Family –  Gabby is absolutely adorable! She’s got such creative ideas, and the photography on the site is really good!

Congratulations to the picks, and may the Liebster Award live on.  :-)

Now, on to the link party goodness!  Another week of awesome entries!  It’s always so hard to pick who is going to get featured!  But, when I saw this little gem of a project – I knew I had a winner! :-)  Say hello to Shabby Sweet Tea’s Wine Cork Birdhouse!

Is that not just the cutest thing?  I can’t help but even marvel at the fact that she lives somewhere where bird houses are totally appropriate.  In Florida, you don’t really see too much of that.

Mauvin’ Monday Link Party #4

A successful link party has come to an end, and it’s time to start anew!  I adored all 49 that got posted this week!  I’m amazed by everyone’s creative minds.  And also, very jealous.  If you didn’t see all the awesome crafts, and furniture revamps from last week – make sure to check them out!

Out of all of the projects,  I have to say that From Gardners 2 Berger’s mercury glass lamp tutorial was my absolute favorite!

(Source)

Mercury glass is so striking, but it’s so much money.  Especially now since it’s become popular,  it’s very hard to come by any pieces in an affordable price range.  That’s why I love that Becca converted two lamps from a thrift store into a piece that looks like it cost hundreds of dollars!  So cool.
